Hey Will,

This is could be a way to tackle it although I'm not sure how o2's caching will work with JSON callbacks. There would be a few extra lines to generate a timestamp for this though and that would be for ever platform the app is made for. The HTTP Header I see as being a universal approach. Also this only applies for data transmitted over mobile data networks.

A combination of both is probably best practise.

Hi Colin,
Would you not be able to add a parameter to the JSON file you are downloading over HTTP?
e.g. Instead of http://mydomain.nhs.uk/somedir/myfile.json
do http://mydomain.nhs.uk/somedir/myfile.json?1234567890 - Where the 1234567890 would be the current timestamp?

Would this be easier than changing the HTTP headers?

Samsung, not HTC here, but your explanation carries over just fine. Several hours of hacking around with this, getting only question marks. Been to several sites. This one was the simplest, most straightforward. Turns out that I must have the tablet powered off to see 'adb devices' report something better than question marks. Is that normal? 'adb devices' not only reports a serial number, but (sometimes) caused the tablet to turn on. Thereafter, I get question marks again. Odd.

Funny how 'Off' does not mean to us what it did to our grandparents :P

Hi Colin,

Thanks for the positive feedback; sorry I'm just seeing this now. Note that while the default is not to tag tweets (in case you're using search to monitor tweets), you can also either append or prepend the search term automatically (in case you use hashtags to simulate a chat). Open the "Conversation" menu, and under "More", you have the option to add the tag to all tweets.
